Margaret Duncan, Ed.D.
A
native of Metropolitan Atlanta, Dr. Duncan holds a bachelor’s degree in History
from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in Social Studies Education
from Piedmont College, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova
Southeastern University. She currently
teaches Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics and US History, has more than 20 years teaching
experience at the middle and high school levels, and is a past participant in four Teaching American History Grants from 2004-2013. She is a certified teacher
of the gifted, as well as a teacher support specialist and mentor. Dr. Duncan is the
sponsor of the National History Honors Society at a Gilder Lehrman Affiliate
school.

Jeff Burns
Born
and raised in Vidalia, Georgia, and earned his B.A. in History at Georgia
Southwestern College and his M.Ed. in Social Studies Education at Georgia
Southern University. He has more than 20
years classroom teaching experience at the middle, secondary, and college
levels, and he currently teaches Advanced Placement U.S. History and Advanced
Placement European History. He is a
certified teacher of the gifted and teacher mentor, and he has coached quiz
bowl for over 20 years, serving as a member of the Georgia Academic Team
Association Board of Directors for several years and president of the organization
for 4 years. Mr. Burns is a past participant in four Teaching American History Grants from 2004-2013. He served on the board of
the Old Capitol Museum in Milledgeville, Georgia and as the board president
before moving to Henry County.
Honors
include: school Teacher of the Year, STAR Teacher, Academic Team Coach of the
Year, JR Barry Award winner for contributions to quiz bowl, Daughters of the
American Revolution Outstanding Teacher of American History Award, and Atlanta
Journal Constitution Honor Teacher Award
Lisa Henriquez
A
proud Georgian from Juliette, Mrs. Henriquez earned her B.S. in Middle Grades
Education from Georgia College and State University with a concentration in
Social Studies and Science, a M.S. in Integrated Technology from Troy
University, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern
University. Mrs. Henriquez has over 18 years’ experience teaching at the
primary and middle grade levels, and is currently content project specialist
and Gifted Teacher at the elementary level. She is a certified teacher of the
gifted, teacher mentor and currently participating in a coaching endorsement
program. Mrs. Henriquez is a past participant in four Teaching American History
Grants from 2004-2013. She is on the Board of directors for Mission Snuggle and
is the Financial chair for Henry County Relay for Life. Mrs. Henriquez has been
published in the National Social Studies Supervisors Association The
Leader and S.T.E.M Magazine
Honors
include: school Teacher of the Year, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society Georgia College and
State University and Nova Southeastern University.
Nina Kendall
Ms.
Kendall has chosen to make Georgia her home. She has a bachelor’s degree in
History and a master’s degree in Social Studies Education from the University
of Florida. Ms. Kendall currently serves as Department Chair at a school
recognized as a Gilder Lehrman Affiliate and a Lincoln Legacy school. She has
taught both middle school and high school since 1998, and is currently teaching
AP US History. Ms. Kendall had a lesson plan published in Differentiated Assessment for Middle and High School Classrooms by
Deborah Blaz. She was the selected as a Picturing America Program Recipient and
was awarded a United Way Great Idea Grant. She is a past participant in three Teaching American History Grants from 2006-2013.
Honors include: Gilder Lehrman Georgia
History Teacher of the Year, school Teacher of the Year, Gwen
Hutcheson Outstanding Social Studies Educator Award.
